A Cosmist Manifesto" is a concise, highly readable presentation of Cosmist philosophy as interpreted by AI researcher Dr. Ben Goertzel. Rather than an academic exploration of arcane philosophical details, the Manifesto is ambitious and directly and simply written -- the goal being, in the author's words, "to make plain old common sense of even the wildest future possibilities." And the range of possibilities covered is very wide, including AI, nanotechnology, uploading, immortality, psychedelics, meditation, future social structures, tech enhanced psi phenomena, alien and cetacean intelligence and the Singularity, and more.

The term Cosmism was introduced by Tsiolokovsky and other Russian Cosmists around 1900. Goertzel's Cosmism has a similar spirit, and has deep roots in Western and Eastern philosophy as well as modern technology and science. Rather than portraying advanced technology as something alien and anti-human, rather, the focus is placed on the potential of science and technology to expand the scope of experience, and to amplify and diversity the love, joy, growth, consciousness and compassion that lie at the heart of our humanity.

If you are already involved in transhumanism, this is THE book for you.
